The Veil of Morning

Standard

The sharpened breath of morning frost

Caught in a web a spider spun

And hung across a gate post

Where as hymen trembling

For the one who’d come

To pass the post

And break the fragile veil

Into the day opening

Fine filaments of shivering

Weeping for a loss

In wanton longing leans to

Make the perfect sacrifice
