Homeward Bound

They say we stole our destiny

From jealous Gods of

Stars we fell

Into the dust of earth

And rose muddy

Out of Eden’s bog

And lifted up ourselves

Our heads too high in pride

Of civilisation lost

We fell again to rise and lose

In motion till

We fired a rocket

To the moon

To view our tender selves

We looked

So lone a planet lost

In blue of Milky Way ahead

Through time we strive to sail the

Universal seas of deepest night

So frail again and bleak

The seeking so to cross

To union of self in space.
