Roll My Back

Standard

Like a river roll my back from shore
I cover like a lover
Holding rock and shell
To mother over hovering
Around in holding
Tight possession of
The things I treasure
Show to eye and bare to light
In twinkling sighting of the talismans
I hide from view
Their teasing hues
So pleases me
I hold to life for beauty’s sake
And take another breath
In fold of life
Over death
And gather in a roll again
A length of tide to hide
The magic gems
That lend their power
For the fending off
The dark in heart
