I Do

Standard

I do
I care
To dare
To fly through this
The dark of sky
With thunders roll
Do I and vie
With fate
Before too late
Has passed me by
The garden gate…

Noun the Now

Standard

Noun the now
Name the un-nameable
To tame the wild
In the wind for harness
Catch the flit
Of butterfly on wing to
Play a fool in all serious
Endeavouring be fun
Then you’ve begun
To bridge the gap
Where words can never
Reach to match nor
Image make the face
Of what’s in place
Before you now
And this is our
Insistence of an instance
In the bliss
Of kiss and tell the
Hell as well to fold
Into a tale to hold
And be the told of life
Before you move
Away from this forever
Precious loss
Of the un-nameable
In cost of what is done
And spent and is forever gone

Abuse

Standard

Lucky heir am I
I get to fly
For free
So frequently
From body
I become
No body to succumb
I have a revenue
Estate so large
Of persons I can be
Instead of me
So small small small
Unimportant
Insubstantial
Till I am not there
At all without a form
To speak or sigh a cry
For peace no potency
To cease or stop the cost
Bequeathed of history
Humanity come see
And turn with evolutions willing
Wheels of revolutions way from this…

This Hand-Me-Down Affliction

Standard

I have a hand-me -down
Affliction of confliction
Forced to face
My fingers are so hasty
Tracing lines I can’t erase

So,
You never have to
Hand it to me
For I am someone
Who bites the one
Who feeds me
Fight to fright
And never fun

I know no synchronicity
Of mutual complicity
With all simplicity
In symmetry
To me my will
And mine alone

Game of Life

Standard

Every day
I run a marathon
Untrained and starved
Of energy and broke
Of hope
I water wade with weighted boot
Upstream with goad
Of heavy loads
To have to carry through
Unseemly hours
Lengthening to last
Too long too far
I’m dumb but have to sing
A song or I shall die
The test is always mine
To fail and fall
Or scrape through all
And only to repeat the same
Defeat of feat impossible
Destined to lose
We all will do
Inevitable at our end
To rest in dust
Till then begin I must
Attempt the unattainable
Refrain of game of life

Four Walls Do A Prison Make

Standard

The wind of change
Unbidden blew
Me through the door
Beyond my range
A space so strange
I’ve never been before
I’d rather have
My known in place
Of riddles with such fear
And shame uncertainty
So powerless I can not name
With no control and knowing
Nought I must erase
And go back to that place
I hate to name as home
A prison with no risk
To roam and to be free
For there at least I know
Myself to be
What cramped four walls
Compress into what
I call
Me
